How do we communicate with Asian workers? Is there any chance that they will learn at least a bit of the local languauge?
In many cases, workers with basic English skills arrive, so this is most often the medium of communication. We also have a partners who employ interpreters to overcome communication challenges. After a few months, many foreign workers already understand the basics in the local language.
What does the accommodation of foreign workers look like?
Accommodation is up to individual agreement. Most often our partners arrange accommodation on their own or rent properties in workers’ hostels. Our agency can also arrange accommodation through partners in certain parts of the country if required.
How can our company hire Asian workers?
Once you have the workers you wish to employ, you will need to complete a so-called “consolidated application procedure” for foreign workers with the authorities.
A consolidated application means that, in the case of a positive assessment, the applicant will be entitled to both reside and work for the company for which he/she is authorised. In the procedure, the authorities will first examine the applications submitted at embassies and consulates in their home country (or in Hungary) from an employment perspective. Afterwards, the immigration police will make the decision.
If the procedure is successful, the workers will be issued with the necessary visas for entry at the relevant embassies and consulates. Once they have entered the country, they register with the immigration authorities and then receive a work and residence permit. In the past, receiving residency cards was often done in person, but recently the cards are sent by post. If the application has been submitted in Hungary and has been successfully assessed, all that remains is to receive the new permit.
Our company has never employed foreign guest workers before. How do we start the process?

In what sectors and what kind of workforce do you recommend to hire?

On which countries can you provide us with advice?
Due to our experience, as well as linguistic, cultural and other reasons, we provide services in the field of Asian, mainly Indian workforce. Regardless, we also have connections in other countries. Examples include the Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
When is it not possible to employ foreign workers?
Although the employment of foreign workers is becoming increasingly widespread in our country, there are certain places where this is still not feasible. One such reason could be work performed in specific special locations (e.g., ministries), where Hungarian citizenship and/or a Hungarian certificate of good conduct may be mandatory. Furthermore, if your company has been issued a labor fine within the past year or has refused to employ domestic labor during a labor market examination, then it is also not permissible to employ foreigners.
How common is it to employ Asian workers in Hungary?
The employment of Asian labor has become more and more widespread in the country in recent years. Nowadays, we can meet foreign workers not only at international companies, but increasingly also at smaller domestic companies.
What should we do if an Asian employee does not suit us?
If for some reason your company decides to dismiss a foreign employee, it can do so in accordance with current Hungarian legislation. However, you have to pay attention to some formalities, which is important to know at this time. Of course, we also stand by our partners in such situations and provide professional assistance.
What payment methods can we choose from regarding the different services?
Depending on the specific services, you can choose to pay at once or in several installments.
How many years can a third-country worker be employed by our company?
Hungarian companies can employ third-country workers for a maximum of two years on a fixed-term contract. The residence permit for employment purposes can then be renewed.
How long does it take to complete the entire immigration process?
The entire immigration process, from the conclusion of the company contract to the start of the foreign workers’ employment, usually takes 4-5 months. This largely depends on the country from which the employees come, as foreign missions have different schedules and, as a result, the length of the process also varies. We always strive to keep turnaround times as low as possible, so we have developed several different methods for you.
What tasks do we have until the employees arrive?
You mostly have tasks of signing, printing and forwarding (to post offices and offices) in addition to recruitment and selection. Moreover, our clients deal mostly with the housing issues of the employees, in which we can provide help and advice. In certain areas of the country, we can also undertake accommodation solutions through accommodation partners.
